Error Spotting from The Hindu for IBPS PO, RRB, CLERK and other exam Part-1


Direction (Q.1-5): In these questions below there are five sentences. In these sentences one or more sentences are grammatically wrong. You have to identify the grammatically incorrect sentence and mark it as your answer:

Q.1

Solution:
In sentence III it should be their instead of his because in this sentence pronoun is used for people and we can’t use his for people so we need to use plural pronoun for that.

Ans 2. A.
Solution:
It should be was busted instead of busting because we can’t use verb+ing form in this sentence because this sentence in passive voice so we need to use third form of verb.

Ans 3. B.
Solution:
In sentence II it should be and instead of as well as because we have between in this sentence and it is a correlative conjunction which is always followed by and.

Ans 4. E.
Solution:
In sentence V it should be while instead of when because in this sentence we are talking about the same time incident so we will use while.

Ans 5. A.
Solution:
In sentence I it should be only despite instead of despite of because there is no word such as despite of in English language.
