As we all know that now a days every competitive exam has become very difficult to crack in first attempt. We need to understand a proper strategy and for making a strategy we have to understand the pattern of an exam. Today we are trying to explain our friends the pattern and how to make strategy for a banking exam.
Basically there are two type of job in this sector that students want to get and these are Bank P.O. (Probationary Officer) and Bank Clerk.

Exam pattern for P.O.:  If students apply for Bank P.O. then they have to face three phases for this:
·      Preliminary Exam
·      Mains Exam

·      Interview

Exam pattern for Clerk:  If students apply for Bank Clerk then they don’t need to face interview section now a days, means there are only two phases that they have to face:
·       Preliminary Exam
·       Mains Exam

In both of these exams the pattern is same only the difference is the level of questions.

       · Preliminary Exam:
Time: 60 Minutes

Now we will try to understand on which topics we should concentrate more to crack preliminary exam easily means in which of the topic the question comes a lot.

    Quantitative Aptitude:

· Number series: This topic will cover 5 numbers in our exam and the questions come from this topic are very easy if we have practiced enough we can crack these questions easily.

 · Approximation/Simplification: The questions come from this topic will cover 5 marks in our exam and sometimes it can cover 10 marks also (only in clerk exam) and the questions from these topics are easy to solve but we have to do practice more.

 · Data interpretation: The questions come from this topic have become difficult because now a days the questions asked from topic is based on other topics i.e. Time and Work, Time and Distance and S.I./C.I. besides percentage/ratio. So if students want to cover this section he/she has to expert in these topics with calculation speed.

· Word Problems: This is that part of our math section which cover 10-15 marks in banking exams and the question comes in this section is difficult to understand easily and this section our all chapters of math i.e. Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Time and Work, Time and Distance and S.I./C.I. etc.

 · Quadratic Equations: This is the best part of math section and very easy to solve all questions of this chapter although the questions of this chapter rarely come in pre exam, However if this chapter comes in pre exam it helps students to score better.

Reasoning:

· Inequality:5
· Alphanumeric series/syllogism: 5
· Puzzle: 10
· Seating arrangement: 10
· Misc.: 5

In reasoning there are only two topics which are time consuming (puzzle/seating arrangement) and these topics are very important to crack reasoning section because these topics cover 50-60% marks of reasoning section so if you want to make perfect yourself in these chapters you can easily crack reasoning section.
Both inequality and syllogism are easy chapters so everybody can score 5-7 marks in these questions easily. For misc. section there are mostly three chapters come in our banking exam and these are Blood relation, Direction, order and ranking and in these chapter a student can score 5/5 easily because the concept of these chapter is very easy to understand.

General English:

·        Reading Comprehension: In preliminary exams this is a very important part of English section. For crack a preliminary exam of banking a student must have great skill in reading and this part is only for checking the reading skill of a student and this part includes some vocabulary also so that if a student is not able to understand the meaning of passage, he/she can easily score 3-4 marks in vocabulary section (these marks are not enough).
Hint to crack RC:
             i. Students need to read daily NEWSPAPER Especially editorial section of the Hindu because it will helps a lot and increase the reading and understanding skills.
ii. For vocabulary students must read Word Power Made Easy daily so that he/she doesn’t need to learn the vocab instead he/she can understand the basic meaning of every word.

·        Cloze test: It is also based on vocabulary and if a student has great skill in understanding a word, he/she can easily crack this section and increase his/her total score.
Hint to crack Cloze Test:
              i. To crack this section a student must have good knowledge of vocab and grammar rules also because sometimes he/she can fill up questions that is based on Articles or subject verb agreement.

·        Parajumble: In this section students will face 5-7 lines from an article or story based and he/she have to understand the theme of that particular article and arrange all these lines in to a meaningful paragraph.
Hint to crack Parajumble:
          i. In this section a student must know the basic grammar rules and have good understanding because sometimes in a sentence he can see between that is a conjunction and in another sentence he can see and, as we all know that this is a correlative conjunction so it can be a pair easily and sometimes he/she can see a noun in the end of a sentence and after that he can see pronoun to related that noun so it can be a pair that’s why to crack this section a student must know the basic grammar rules so that he can solve easily.
