MoUs signed between India and other nations (Part I)


1.   Between Germany and India:
(29-30th May)

Meseberg and Berlin were those Areas that visited by modi in Germany.
India and Germany signed eight agreements on cyber issues, urban development, skill development, Digital India, railway safety, education, and sustainability.
List of agreements:

·        Agreement on collaboration between the Ministry of Skill Development and Germany's BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research). This agreement will facilitate training of Indian skill development officers and cluster managers
·        Agreement between the Ministry of Health and BMG (Federal Ministry of Health) on cooperation in health sector
·        Agreement between the AYUSH and BMG (Federal Ministry of Health) over cooperation in alternative medicine
·        JDI between Ministry of Science and Technology and the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) for the establishment of an Indo-German Centre for Sustainability
·        JDI between the Ministry of External Affairs and the German Foreign Office on cooperation on cyber policy
·        JDI between the Ministry of Finance and BMZ (Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development) on Indo-German Development Cooperation
·        JDI between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and BMWi (Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy) over continuation of cooperation in the field of advanced training of corporate and junior executives from India
·        JDI between the Department of Heavy Industries and BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) on cooperation in vocational education and skill development for machine tools
·        JDI between the Ministry of External Affairs and the German Foreign Office on collaboration between Foreign Service institutes of both the country
·        JDI between the Ministry of Railways and German Ministry of Transport on cooperation in railway safety
·        JDI between the Ministry of Urban Development and German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development on cooperation for sustainable urban development
·         JDI on cooperation in the field of digitalisation, empowerment and economic impact between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Germany's Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

2.   Spain and India:
(30-31st may)

Madrid was the place that was visited by PM Modi.
Spain is India's seventh largest trading partner in the European Union and Modi, the first Indian prime minister to visit Spain since 1988.Modi encouraged Spanish infrastructure, tourism, energy and defense companies to invest in priority sectors in India, saying "It's a great time for Spanish companies to invest in India."

  • Agreement for Transfer of Sentenced Persons.
  • MOU on Cooperation in organ transplantation between India’s Directorate General of Health Services and the National Transplant Organization of Spain.
  • MoU on Cooperation in Cyber Security.
  • MoU on Cooperation in Renewable Energy.
  • MoU on Technical Cooperation in Civil Aviation.
  • Agreement on visa waiver for holders of diplomatic passports.
  • MoU between Foreign Service Institute and Diplomatic Academy of Spain.

3.   Russia and India:
(31 May-2 June)

Saint Petersburg was that place where Modi went in Russia.
List of agreements:
·        An agreement on cultural exchanges for a period of two years (2017-2019) has been signed between the two nations.
·         An agreement for the construction of the third stage of the Kudankulam NPP (KK5 & KK6) along with the Credit Protocol has been signed between NPCIL and ROSATOM.
·        An agreement between the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) and the Council of India on Scientific and Industrial Research has been signed to provide access to Rospatent experts to the Indian Digital Library of Traditional Knowledge (TKDL).
·        Contract between JSC (Russian Railways) and the Ministry of Railways on the preparation of the justification for the implementation of the high-speed service at the Nagpur-Secunderabad section has been signed.
·        Memorandum of cooperation between ALROSA Joint Stock Company and the Council for the Promotion of the Export of Precious Stones and Jewellery of India has been signed.
4.   France and India:
(2-3 June)

Paris was that place where Modi went in France.
List of agreements:
·        Protocol No.2 to the Agreement dated December 5, 2008 between the Government of the Republic of India and the Government of the Russian Federation.
·        Agreement between Heavy Engineering Corporation Limited and Joint Stock Company "Cascade - Technologies” for setting up of a Special Purpose Vehicle for railways.
·        Memorandum of Understanding between SREI Infrastructure Finance Limited and State Corporation ‘Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)’ on Russian export support and participation in the development of India-Russia capital goods financing/leasing business.
·        Agreement on Cooperation between ‘JITF Urban Infrastructure Services Limited’ (Republic of India), ‘Jindal Rail Infrastructure Limited’ (Republic of India), Joint Stock Company ‘Russian Export Centre’ (Russian Federation), and Limited Liability Company Management Company ‘Rail TransHolding’ (Russian Federation).
·        Memorandum of Understanding between National Investment Promotion Agency ‘Invest India’ and the Business Council for Cooperation with India concerning the promotion of investment in India and Russia.
·        Cooperation Agreement between National Investment Promotion Agency ‘Invest India’ and the Roscongress Foundation.

·        Memorandum of Understanding between ‘Sun Group Private Limited’ and Joint Stock Company ‘Pribor’.
